please help - return

Hello - I am a private seller and just trying to declutter/ etc. I sold a pair of curtains that were new/ never used. The buyer has contacted today to say they are in fact actually defective and wants to return. I have agreed and followed the procedure to obtain a label etc - sent it to them via the returns process. I also screenshot the evri qr code and messaged them that as well incase they could not print at home. In quick succession from this they are now trying to get me to email them outwith eBay as say a screenshot is not acceptable (which im not going to do because its outwith eBay policy). when I asked them to return the item with the dustbag and cardboard sleeve - they say as it is defective/faulty  the packaging is not statutory under the consumer act 2019 (fine if I got that wrong). they are starting to be quite rude when I'm merely being compliant. I haven't responded to the recent 5 messages that were sent in quick succession.  I kinda feel like they want me to just say don't bother sending it and just refund them, im not doing that.  I bought the item from next for a house we were buying  last year where the sale collapsed - I had no reason to suspect the item was damaged/ faulty and am happy to receive the return and refund - im not out to scam them. its the first time I've had a return so don't know what to do now.

Stick with case, do not reply to buyers messages

As long as you issued returns label, ebay give buyer a set time to return item or case closes in your favour.

Only refund when you get item back.
