payment on hold

You are a new seller ( or a returning one perhaps)  then initial payouts are held for up to 21 days until tracking shows delivery, or for collection items a collection code is entered.

I do understand here there was a change of mind and item was collected,  but truly your workaround for this can leave you open now , if the buyer is dishonest,  for them to open a case for item not as described.

Hopefully, this will not be the case, but I would not recommend to do this again.

When the tracking shows  ' delivery'  ,  this should release the money sooner,  not immediately.

Did you add that tracking number where you marked the item as dispatched?  If not,  do so now.

If a reasonable time passes and money is still on hold contact eBay Customer Services and explain the situation.

This is the easiest and quicket way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.
