ombudsman

hi has anyone ever had any success with the ombudsman with ebay, we had an email February asking for information and our account would be put on stop until resolved, we provided this information, then they asked for more and more,  so cut a long story short we have 7k held by ebay for 6 months, now having called them for the 100th time, they say they need an additional 190 days taking us to march to investigate, how can this be, over the last 3 months we have sold £1300 worth of goods yet they claim the money is held for any refunds?? and so Im going to the ombudsman to report them, thinking how many people have they done this to, how many millions of pounds are just held in ebays account??? this cannot be right ? any comments please

Only mentors can respond in this part of the forum and it is unlikely that any of us have had direct dealings with the financial ombudsman in regard to Ebay.

There are some lengthy posts dealing with this topic which may be worth reading through, or you could post your question in one of the discussion forums.

Have you taken any legal advice?

eBay's handling of payments is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (although its money back guarantee is not). So you may have a right of appeal to the Ombudsman over this long payments hold.

However, what they are lkely to consider is whether eBay's actions are in accordance with the terms you accepted in the user agreement. You or your legal representative would need to crawl through this very thoroughly first. This is not something to be attempted lighty so it would be wise to take legal advice.
