even worse is my buyer has not received his goods and I have no way of supporting him finding out where they are within the GSP

Are you saying you posted all items in same parcel to GSP centre?
If they were different orders, you can't combine them, they have to be individual parcels, each with it's own reference number.
Unless you can prove delivery of each item, you will lose.

Many thanks for taking time to respond.
Actually the buyer with the help from GSP - Ebay combined 5 seperate items into 1 parcel these were originally seperate orders but combined into 1 GSP order , I also managed to contact Ebay support direct via social media, they were extremeley helpful and all cases are now closed, the buyer has been refunded for 5 items the 6th was on a seperate order and not included in the cover yet was in same parcel with same Tracking number although I beleieve a different GSP reference?
It turns out that Royal mail failed to record my delivery of a tracked item on their tracking system, I vaguely remember getting text confirmaton however Ebay confirmed that GSP had actually received the parcel and that it was now lost in transit, hence the buyer being refunded.
My Advice is ensure your buyer has all items within the same order if using GSP, ensure that you use Signed Tracked mail to the GSP hub, also ensure your ostage items if of any value, Post office will only refund upto a certain amount if not. What I have yet to work out is how a buyer can combine orders if those orders are Buy It Now and you agree to offers as I beleieve this creates seperate orders so if shipping say from UK to US via GSP it makes sence to combine into 1 parcel rather than have your buyer pay for multiple ....

If buyer pays for all items as 1, seller still has to send individually to GSP, but GSP will combine postage when forwarding.
TBH. GSP can be a nightmare.
