Hi all,I bought an apple mac in April for my son for him to use at University Sept but the time he looked at it he told me some bad news he couldn't use it because the last owner left his icloud account on it,so we cotacted him and said I can't help I don't remember it,all he said was I deleted everything back to factory settings so sorry can't help we tried telling him you need to go to icloud but no even this is over 6 months what would you do try and ask for my money back? ,go to the police coz it could be stolen if this guy says he can't temember his password and will not help even went to apple store wouldn't help me what can I do guys anything.

Really, the only practical solution would be for your son to take the computer to a local computer shop and see if they can help.

The seller probably can't remember their details after all this time and contacting the police with no evidence whatsoever seems pointless.

Thank you for your reply,but this guy we bought it from will not help he said the same thing as you go to an apple store go see an it pro? all of this no good apple say its not their policy to help with this when I showed them proof of buying and it pro said it is impossible to use only the person who can help is the guy you bought it from all he has to do is get in touch with icloud tell them he has forgot his password to use the laptop they send it to him gives us it done but he will not help why?????

A quick 'google' does suggest an alternative way of doing this.

Most towns (and certainly university cities) have independent small IT shops with enthusiastic staff who love a challenge.

If the previous owner is refusing to help, then you will need to be proactive and make efforts yourself to get this sorted.
