i was refunded before i returned the item

i purchased an item and then had to return it. 

the seller refunded me immediatly, which i understand could be an error on their part.

i waited for a postage label from ebay that never arrived.

now the seller has message me a postage label that ive printed off.

my question, is it okay to just mail the item back even though there is no prompt to do so by ebay.

or do i wait for some kind of prompt from ebay.

ive been refunded and want to get the item back to seller but dont want to be scammed or anything with like a reverse charge or anything.

When a refund is issued before the item is sent back ebay assumes the seller does not want it back and it's not possible to do so via ebay anymore.   As you say, it's an easy mistake to make because ebay's wording makes some sellers think they have to refund right away.   As you have the refund it's fine just to send it back using the label supplied by the seller.
