forcing bids up

if only 2 people  are bidding.  my max proxy was  x . other bidder went to x but for some reason my bidding continued  way after they stopped bidding with no other bidders entering the auction. no other person was bidding but I had another 4 x bids submitted forcing my bid up. how is this possible?

Re: forcing bids up

It does say NO RETRACTIONS, and any retractions would also appear at bottom of page, and again the fake bids would also fall.

There is no mention of a reserve, so I suggest you have a word with seller so that you can retract these fictitious bids. Even if you had bid in error you cannot bid against yourself and price would not rise. If seller is not helpful, then I am  afraid you will need to speak to ebay to see if they can explain.

Have you looked to see if the other bidder was using automatic bids?

Re: forcing bids up

No but tey stopped bidding to 1500 and mine had a further 4 bids pushing me
up to 1950 .
Almost like someone else bidded then retracted?
