ebay seller protection

Hi,

 

I sold a item on eBay but the item was damaged in transit i always was told i had seller protection and eBay would cover the damaged item but am told that's wrong can someone clarify

If you sent it using Simple Delivery ask the buyer to open a return case using "Arrived damaged" as the reason.   Then ebay will refund the buyer and you keep the original payment.

 

Sorry I see you're a business seller so that doesn't apply.

No, eBay does not protect business sellers from damage in transit.

 

The buyer is covered - you will have to refund them in full. But it's up to you to claim whatever comensation you can from Royal Mail or the courier, depending upon the service used.

 

It's only very recently that eBay has started to cover loss or damage in transit from private seller, when eBay's new "simple delivery" service is used.
