Why is it I can’t get on the eBay home page and it tells me that I need to update to the iPhone 16 and I have the iPhone 6s Plus

Looks like a phone issue rather than ebay.

The eBay app needs minimum IOS 16 to run ,unfortunately your phone wont support anything higher than IOS 15 you will have to uninstall the app and use the phones browser until you get a newer phone.
