eBay refunded buyer AFTER delivery, they have the item !

Basically our situation boils down to this.

We listed an item, over £600.

My mother had a stroke and we had to leave - When we left, someone purchased it.

By the time we got home, they had opened a case because the item was late by a day or two.

We sent the item at the Post Office, and provided tracking info. We also sent a personal email to explain and apologise

eBay put a hold on my account, also holding my other product sales revenues.

Parcelforce confirmed delivery with a photo ( NO SIGNATURE )

The hold continued so I the seller asked eBay to step in and there was proof of delivery by Parcelforce.

TODAY eBay ruled in the buyers favour and refunded them the entire amount claiming we should of got a signature as its over £450. Yet they have had the item now for over 2 weeks.

What about our £600 pound item ? can anyone help us with this ridiculous situation please

You can appeal with your proof of delivery.

Before you do that, contact the buyer who now has the item and the payment and try to appeal to their better nature.

They may be prepared to pay again or to return the item.

You should simply have refunded through the case and not actually sent it.
