So I have 2 business eBay accounts and have been selling on eBay for 8 years and both accounts are in great standing.
I sell low value items mainly, so I offer free 2nd class postage or they can chose and pay for tracked. Same with international items, there is an option for standard shipping and for tracked.
For some reason when I purchase my labels through eBay, they put the reference number for the label in the tracking field. I get several messages every week from customers complaining that the tracking shows it has not been posted. I then have to explain that eBay put a false tracking number in, and that it has been posted.
This is very frustrating for both me as the seller and for the customers as they think I have not even posted the item (I do get proof of postage for every item, my post office loves me, not lol)
I know I can get postage direct from Royal Mail, and I did have Royal Mail business, but didn't like being invoiced only once a month so it is easier to purchase them direct though eBay.
I have fed this back on numerous occasions and have also asked customers who have complained that it has not been posted to contact eBay but they never get back to me.
So my question is, how do we as sellers get this resolved? If it is NOT tracked then eBay should not put anything in the tracking field.
Does anyone else get frustrated about this, and what can we do about it other than not purchasing labels though eBay?
Thank you 😊
