collection postage payment issue

Hi all,

I've sold a heavy item and it was inadvertently advertised as postage. The buyer wants to collect, but can't pay as the postage option is not filled in at my end... but I can't find how to change or quote a postage option because the buyer hasn't paid... seems there must be a way of allowing a buyer to collect or for me to select a payment offer after sales?

I could quote the cost as £0 just to allow him to pay, but I can't do anything with the postage. I couldn't select a postage option before sale as the item weighs a third of a tonne, so I would need the address of the buyer to get a courier quote.

Seems I can't do anything with postage till he pays, and he can't pay till I quote postage!

Postage section under invoice is blank....

Please help!

Many thanks

Andy

Suggest with buyers agreement, cancelling the sale and relisting again with agreed terms for delivery.

Before ebay started all their “improvements?” this sort of thing could be sorted out easily.

Best way forward is to cancel the order citing Buyer requests to cancel,  this fully refunds the buyer and your seller performance is not affected.  Then relist it as a Collection only item,  for the buyer to buy from you again.

This way your buyer receives that all important collection code,  which when you scan or enter the numbers manually,  shows the item was collected.

You need to of course to message the buyer to explain what you are doing,  and the reason, but make it very, very clear in your messages,  that you will be relisting the item on eBay again for the buyer to buy, make it clear this is not an off eBay sale.
