cancelling a request once a buyer has opened one

How do I cancel the request when a customer has sent an item back for an exchange, I have sent it back she has received it but ebay still want to refund and I cannot cancel the request

Only your buyer can close an open eBay return or, if they don't, it will eventually just time out.
