My buyer wants to collect from my home & pay cash. What happens about buyer protection charges

Cash on collection is not allowed by Ebay any more.

You should not be able to exchange contact details until the buyer has paid through Ebay checkout.

For collection sales, the buyer needs a collection code as you won't have proof of posting/delivery.

Did you sell as a collection sale?

If you did this, buyer protection would be meaningless.

You would still pay buyer protection fee, but no way to sort out if buyer opened a not received case, especially as there would be no way for you to mark as paid. Buyer could simply open a not received case.

You have home collection on your listings so the buyer must choose this -not delivery and pay via eBay checkout to get the collection code you need before you release the item.
