i ask for pics
he then states it does work but the controllers don't control the temperature
I offer 20% but no go so send a return label to keep my status as a good seller
Question is if it comes back in the same condition and does work how do i stand and what can i do this isn't the first time things like this have happened I once had a woman suggest perfume was a copy she uses some then claimed it was a copy 4 weeks later

Apart from reporting the buyer for abusing the money back guarantee, there is not anything you can practically do.

If buyer claims not as described, you issue returns label and refund in full on return.
Had you correctly registered as business seller, which you are, you may have been able to part refund,
private sellers cannot do this.

as per my description i did offer part refund and have sent an ebay returns label i was more concerned that buyers can abuse the returns on the whim of changing there mind where as they may be charged the return label rather than the seller so mark it as damaged

If buyer accepts part refund, they keep item.
Or they use returns label for full refund.

That may be the case.
However, as a private seller, you don't have to accept returns.
Although buyers should not misuse the return system, and abuse the Money Back Guarantee, when they see 'no returns' on a listing, the only way to return an unwanted item is by being dishonest.
So, the buyer is stuck - they can keep an unwanted item, or they can open a false return.
Of course, until you get the item back, you won't know if this buyer was being honest or not.
