Wrong item received

Hi can anyone advise me. I ordered a Samsung  mobile phone listed as new however I have received a used Google phone. I have contacted the seller who has responded promptly however they are instructing me to choose the reason for return as ITEM DOES NOT FIT is this the correct procedure that the seller has asked me to choose

No, that is a "change of mind" return which sellers can refuse or buyer pays postage.   You must use  "Item doesn't match description" and if necessary escalate it to eBay after 3 complete working days.

As advised, don't do what they have suggested,

Start a return.

Use an accurate/truthful reason.

Don't accept any promises: 'I'll send the right item etc.'.

They should provide a tracked label.  Use it and send the phone back promptly.
