Won auction. Not legit seller? Do I pay?

Hi
Won an auction for some Nike dunks earlier. Good price....Red flags are starting...new seller (November this year) no feedback but he was selling two other items...one of the other items has been sold.

Question is...should I pay now or leave it a few days to see if seller gets in touch?

Do I contact ebay?

If I pay will I get a refund?

If ebay suspend a seller's account (which they would do if they were scammers) the item is usually taken off so you won't be able to get your money back via ebay.   You'd have to contact your payment provider and ask them.    So if you decide to go ahead with an iffy seller use your credit card with Paypal for added protection.   

But if you're seriously worried don't pay.   The seller may do an unpaid cancellation which would put a non-payment defect on your account but one won't have any affect.

you say "Red flags are starting" - but they were there before you purchased.

Maybe they joined eBay to sell those items, it's not an overly expensive item at around £30 if you want the trainers pay for them and resolve any issues later.

If they arrive or not and there is a problem not as described etc you have the moneyback guarantee to fall back on.

How are red flags starting now?

Surely they were a new seller with no feedback when you placed a bid?
