Withheld fees from Royal Mail glitch

So as well as the problems put forward by all the changes, I have two main issues at the minute which are totally stopping me from wanting to list on eBay at the minute.

1. When I receive offers, I get two different prices displayed in a short amount of time so I don’t know which I’m accepting. For example: I’ve listed an item for £6.99, eBay has listed it as £7.99. (I assume that’s the new buyer protection they have added?!) I receive an offer for £5, but when I click on the offer it shows it as actually being £4.11? Like what is the price I will be paid if I accept. It’s so confusing.

2. EBay have admitted there is currently a problem with items being delivered by Royal Mail and it not being marked on their systems as delivered. So for example I’ve sent an item and uploaded tracking details, but it has not updated on eBay or Royal Mail website as delivered but I have received positive feedback that it has been delivered and all is well. However eBay will not release funds as it is still showing as awaiting delivery?! They have said it will eventually update and release funds, but will it and how long?! Like how is this possible they can hold money like this!!! We already need to pay all the postage upfront. It’s awful.

1. The seller sees the auction or offer price without the fee, so they know exactly how much they'll receive. As the Buyer Protection fee is variable, the fee amount that the buyer actually pays is calculated as part of the final auction selling price.

2. There are site issues with tracking uploading on ebay ,but if the postal service website shows an item as delivered online, you can contact customers service to release the payment for you.

No tracking and you have to wait 14 days for payment.

For items valued at £10 and under, then the payment is not required to have tracking and payment is released after 2 days if buyer leaves feedback.

Withheld fees from Royal Mail glitch

Hi and thanks for the quick response and clarity.

I do get two different prices displayed when receiving an offer when I receive it through and then click on it, I can only assume the lower one is what I will be paid and the higher one is with buyer protection but it really isn’t clear?

The Royal Mail thing I hope is temporary, as who wants to constantly chase up and wait for feedback to be left or contacting customer service (who actually did advise to wait for the eventual release rather than speed it through themselves).

Yes the lower fee is what you would receive.
