Why when I got a request for a Return that I didn’t have to refund the buyer

I agreed to refund an item but then I got a message from eBay to say I didn’t need to pay for the return postage or give a refund as they had sorted it. Why was this?

Probably because this was a Simple Delivery transaction,  where eBay take over refunds in most cases.
