Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone can explain this because I’m genuinely confused.
I have a sink for sale that is slightly larger than Royal Mail Medium Parcel limits. If I send it with Royal Mail, I risk a surcharge or refusal.
However, it does fit within Evri medium parcel limits, so Evri is the correct carrier for this item.
The problem is eBay Simple Delivery (private account) won’t let me restrict this listing to Evri only.
If Royal Mail is shown and the buyer selects it, I’m stuck — because the parcel is physically too big for Royal Mail but perfectly fine for Evri.
If I switch Royal Mail off, it changes delivery settings across all my listings.
I want to use Royal Mail for items that fit their size limits, and Evri only for parcels that exceed Royal Mail Medium — but the system doesn’t allow that level of control.
It also appears that Simple Delivery is using Royal Mail’s size thresholds across the board, even though Evri’s size allowances are different (and in some cases more generous).
So I’m left with this choice:
1 - Risk a Royal Mail surcharge
2 - Switch everything to Evri
3 - Or opt out of Simple Delivery entirely and lose the streamlined protection
Surely if a parcel exceeds Royal Mail’s limits but fits Evri’s, the system should automatically remove Royal Mail as an option?
Has anyone found a workaround for this while staying within Simple Delivery, or is opting out the only solution?
Appreciate any advice.
