Why Do eBay Do This

Why do eBay send emails saying a package is out for delivery when the courier site says ‘it’s on its way’ and is at the delivery depot and not actually out for delivery?? The last time this happened my parcel was ‘on its way’ & ‘out for delivery’ for 7 days, then Evri’s site updated to say it was delivered when it wasn’t. And I had to fight eBay to get a refund, which they gave ‘as a courtesy and would not do again’. 2 weeks after that I got an email from Evri saying there was a problem with my parcel. So I checked and according to them the parcel (that they said had been delivered 2 weeks previously) had been irreparably damaged at the depot and was undeliverable!!!!! Now I have a weird sense of Deja Vu.

Are you sure ebay sends this sort of message? Ebay does not deliver, so would not have anything to do with “out for delivery”!

Yes I’m sure, the parcel came from the U.S using eBay’s international shipping and the tracking on the order page said the same thing. This is the email I received this morning.
