Was charged VAT! I'm a UK buyer and the seller is UK.. used physical items.

I've just noticed I've been charged 20% VAT for buying used camera equipment, a used DVD, etc. Nothing digital...  Has happened with the last 5 purchases. I thought the price shown even if outside the Uk includes VAT (unless over a certain amount which then states extra charges apply).. 

If this a mistake, how do i get in touch with ebay as i just go on merry go round with AI chats and read this....

If you buy from a seller who is registered outside the UK you will be charged an extra 20% in the form of import VAT.

Can you supply us with a link or listing number to one of the listings you've been charged VAT on please?

If an item and, or a seller is located outside UK then VAT is added at checkout by eBay and no zero allowance is made.

If the price is high enough to attract import duty eBay make no charges and duty is collected when the item arrives in the UK.
