Why when you purchase an Item from a seller on Ebay and they send you the wrong item it costs the buyer money to return it, little or a lot it is all money my money.
I bought a Light blue in colour Schulz Coin holder £9.04 they sent me a Dark Blue in colour which is wrong, easy to resolve send the correct one with a returns envelope and i would send the wrong one back, jobs agooden.
2 messages and this is the reply " hi, i do apologise for this issue. i will check at the warehouse tomorrow (today) about what happened and let you know the steps we can take to resolve this issue.
4 messages later and know reply, spoken to Ebay and they are as helpful as a chocolate tea pot, a waste of time, or is it and Ebay run shop !!!!
As a seller on Ebay myself for 18 years I would never expect a buyer to pay for my mistake, so why are eBay's policy's so out of date, I am sure it never used to be this difficult or expensive.

Ebay's policy is that you start a return case.
The seller provides a return label - so no cost to you.
(Or, you can ask for a replacement at this stage,)
You send the item back and get a full refund.
Then, you can buy the correct item or find a more reliable seller.

It sounds like you opened a plain return case.
It should have been item not as described case, seller provides return postage label.

Only good if I have ebay on my phone which I do not !
YES the seller should provide a returns label, but if they will not reply what can you do.
The Returns policy asks me to put item in a box and print off a label, when it came in a plastic envelope !
Not If the seller will not reply !
I send the Item back at a cost to me, wrong !
If I knew they were unreliable I would not of shopped with them, this is where ebay should step in.

Ebay won't do anything unless you open a return case.
You can send the item back in similar packaging to how it arrived.
Once you open a case, the label is provided through the case.
If the seller doesn't provide a label, you go back to the case and ask Ebay to step in.
You're clearly wasting your time trying to get a response from the seller, so why don't you use the Ebay Money Back Guarantee, follow the returns process, and get your money back?

If seller does not supply returns label, you escalate on day 4 for ebay to sort.

Spoke to ebay customer services and they must have started a plain returns case.

eBay CS do not ' start plain returns cases', cases are started by the buyer.
