Verification Message Scam?

Hello ebayers, i recently received a message from a verifybot16 account (i didnt put out the whole account name just incase) but it said in the message that i had to click on the link which was id298.ebay-complete.com (another red flag) which was all in aid of verifying my account. Does anyone know if this is a scam message just fishing for my details?  
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Then it's not a scam.

But its on my emails too and when i click on to the ebay message address it says a funny long email address. Then i got another message an hour later saying the same thing from another email address with similar address but different slightly

 and also look at what they want me to click and paste to search. Looks really suspect

Looks like A.I. Is quite useful after all.

OK I take it back. I have just been told that someone has messaged you from an ebay account that has been created for the purposes of scamming people.   It's not a message from ebay at all, as your research has confirmed. 

It is a scam.

If you clicked on the link it would be wise to run virus checks and anti malware scans on your device.

Send all those messages to spoof@ebay.com    they need to see this!
