The vat element is postage tracked service from Royal Mail. Ordinarily price in brochure will include vat at 20% however eBay break it down on invoices hence the additional vat line you see.

Thank you for your speedy reply which is puzzling me a bit ....( normal day for me!)

I won the item at £10.65 and then £1.24 VAT was added on top of the purchase price  even though I am paying £5.54 for Standard Tracked Delivery itself?
