Usps Tracking updates nothing happening

The seller used USPS to send goods in Nov 2024. By Dec 17th the goods had got to Chicago. There have been no updates by usps since.  I am in the UK. It looks like its lost or stuck and I don't know what to do. The seller replied to one email saying they would chase it but there hasn't been anything.

What was estimated delivery date?

You can open item not received case within 30 days of it.

If still in time, do it ASAP, escalate 4 days later,ignore seller excuses. 

If too late for ebay, your payment provider may help.
