Using a different postage method

I didn’t use the pre-populated postage method for item I sold. EBay give instructions for manually adding tracking but they don’t work. Can anyone tell me how to do this so it does work please. Navigating EBay help is a NIGHTMARE

If you managed to use the Custom Postage and not eBay's Simple Delivery to buy your postage,  preferably using a laptop / PC and Chrome click on the item sold in Active Listing.

Top left click on view order details >> on the right to More Actions>>  from drop down menu select Mark as Dispatched,  and add any relevant tracking there.
