Unwanted items

Hi I recently bid for an item but due to unforseen circumstances I had to cancel. Although I haven't paid because I'm not in the position to do so due to a bereavement. The seller refused my cancellation and it is stuck in my account and can't be removed. Neither can anything else be bought without purchasing the item.

What can I do.

There is nothing you can do.  A seller does not have to accept a cancellation, no matter how genuine a reason,  and you may well face an unpaid item strike after 4 days of non payment.

One strike will not harm your account,  but if you gain another in 12 months,  you will not be able to buy from the majority of sellers for a full q12 months.
