Had an email from eBay saying an item I bought doesn’t follow uk safety policy and the item has been removed from market, I bought my son one last month and eBay have sent this email saying it’s u safe, I contacted the seller and they say eBay have made a mistake.
I have tried to contact eBay but there’s no chat button available for some reason, any help would be greatly appreciated

eBay have a 30 day returns policy, if you're past that then eBay can't do anything.
Have you checked on the manufacturers website to make sure that the particular design and model you have is on their recall list?
If so, and you paid with a debit or credit card you have 120 days to issue a not as described chargeback and get a full refund that route.

Nothing eBay can help you with if the period from buying from the seller has lapsed 30 days.
Was this a Business seller?
All you can do is to is to contact the manufacturer ask if there is any action you need to take, they may request it back for a refund ? I say may, it's not a given!
If they don't require it sending back, you say ' bought for my son '. Was it a toy? Bin it !

Definitely do not use it, there must be some manufacturer's mark on the scooter to contact them see what they say.
It was my understanding these items could only be sold by a registered business on eBay. If so, and they are a UK business ( hopefully not Chinese!) it must have been sold new with a guarantee? Was it?
If they are not upholding this guarantee, and in view of the manufacturer's warning message, you could report to Trading Standards, and ask Citizens Advice how to proceed.

Ebay is probably only advising of a general recall they have been notified about, may not involve the model you have, but best to check with trading standards or manufacturer if in UK.
Citizens advice might be a good place to try.

The important thing is to establish whether the safety recall applies to your son's scooter. Have you checked the manufacturer's web site? Otherwise, try Googling the make and model of the scooter, and adding the word 'recall'. Failing this, trading standards may have a record of all recalls, or even Citizens Advice.
The seller must be a business seller to have sold an electric scooter here, so if you can verify that the recall applies you can take it up with them more assertively. If they ghost you, you may be able to get support from Trading Standards - or even take take the seller to the small claims court.
I'd like to think that the manufacturer may be able to help, but I imagine they're probably in China.
In situations like this you realise how different buying on eBay is from buying from the shops. Many sellers don't want to take responsiblity for problems and eBay did warn you in the in the user agreement that that they don't guarantee items for sale here will be safe or legal. Would you have bought this from a shop that stated this?
Good luck, I hope you can sort it out.
