Unsure if scammer

I just want a clarification, if eBay sends out a email with a gmail account? I’m the talks with a buyer, who made an account yesterday 24 July 2025,  with one name and then sends me a picture of a email with another name , and then we’re talking  from emails, and they said “the payment has been sent check your junk box from eBay for confirmation and tracking” so I goes look and the email address is paymentnotifier@gmail.com, I am right in thinking this person I was talking to is a scammer of some sort ? I do have the screenshots and everything for evidence

eBay do not use gmail.    If buyer doesn't pay correctly through ebay issue an Unpaid Item cancellation after 4 complete days.   More info:

it's a scam - block them and do as advised regarding unpaid.
