Unfair practice by supplier

I ordered a bicycle cover for my campervan, and paid the premium to have it delivered earlier than normal. Almost a week later, and when I had left for a months holiday in Spain the items arrived. I told the supplier that I no longer wanted the items and would return them when I got home. This I did, just sticking the return label on the unopened package. The seller has not returned my original money, just deducted quite a lot for the returned goods not being in the same state as ordered. This is rubbish and I feel I’m being treated unfai

Some business sellers are allowed to discount refunds if they deem items are not in the same condition they were received.

However if you returned the goods without opening them how can this be?

Incidentally I don't know what reason you selected for returning, but you could have selected "not as described" because your item arrived late. The seller would then have had to send you a pre paid label to return it, so it should not have cost you anything,

You'll know this for next time.

It would have helped to tell us when the item was delivered, and when you opened a return request through eBay - if you did open a return request through eBay??

As you only returned the item after a month's holiday in Spain, it sounds as though you may have been outside eBay's 30 day time limit to initiate a return request or money back guarantee case through eBay?

If you simply dealt direct with the seller over this return eBay won't be involved and there is little we can do to advise you. I'm not even sure that your payment provider can help in this situation. As regards your statutory consumer rights, it may be relevant that you gave notice of your intention to return the item before leaving for Spain.  I would suggest consulting Citizen's advice, or there is plenty of information online.

I DID tel the supplier, and DID return it as I told them.

Never had this problem with Amazon.

You are in time to edit your last two posts and remove your personal phone numbers.

It is not a good idea to put them in a public forum.
