UK to USA shipping via Royal Mail via eBay - working yet?

For the last few months I've been unable to sell anything to USA because I use Royal Mail postage through eBay. I've got a pile of packages I've had to cancel and I'll tell the buyers I'll relist when it's working again. Is it working yet? Last time I checked there was only an £18 Parcel Force option which none of my buyers would ever consider using.

What about instead of using eBay postage goto the post office? We sent 5 packages to the USA last week no problem.

How likely is my package to arrive without my buyer having to pay import tax on it again? I used to take everything to the post office but easily half of what I sent abroad would come with a demand for more tax to be paid. I've bought a printer since then and it happens with maybe one in a hundred packages.

You can buy your postage from Royal Mail direct using Click and Drop and print your label.  You can complete the customs form on the site as well.

The label you print indicates that taxes have been paid by the buyer and Royal Mail will calculate the relevant tariff for the US and add it to the amount you pay for the postage.
