Two accounts same email

I have an eBay account and sold an item which was purchased. The buyer contacted me  about it. When I went to log in I received a Network and technical error. It now seems that I had two accounts with the same email. The buyer is contacting me but I can't access the account I sold the item on. When I go onto eBay it logs me into another account which is mine too but with the same email just a different user name and login. Help me please.  I don't know how this is possible

It's not possible to use same email on different ebay accounts.

Some have reported that if you sign in through Google it sets up a 2nd account.

Try logging in to account you sold item on.

Two accounts same email

Hi

I have had loads of problems with this. I sold an item on Parslow32 ubique66@gmail.com but when I tried to log in the system simply wouldn't let me. It looked as though there were X2 accounts with the email unique66 at Gmail. I was getting error messages saying Network problem then Technical difficulties. I have screen shots. I couldn't login or change my password. It kept saying that is the wrong password. It occured to me that my account had been hacked as it seemed strange that all this began when I had a confirmed sale. It was for a Rothenberger Freeze Kit at £400.

At a later time I was able to change the password but even then the system wouldn't allow me to login with the new password!! I tried logging in to it from another device too but still no joy. Anyone else could see the account including the buyer but I couldn't login to action anything. I tried to speak to eBay but I have to say the customer service is terrible because you can't physically speak to anyone and the auto response help page didn't list my specific error. I kept in going round in circles. The buyer was emailing me accusing me of being a scammer. After a 24 hour period I was able to access the account and I set up my bank details so the money for the sale could be transferred. I then went to look into the delivery of the item. It was then that I realised that the cost of transporting the item wouldn't be covered by the cost set up by eBay at 13.Kg it was far too heavy. When I looked into courier costs it was going to cost between 60 and 70 pounds. Which I wasn't going pay.

I also had the item for sale on Facebook Market place. The buyer had found the item on there too and asked me after I had sold it to him on eBay if I would take it down on Market place. I hadn't remembered that it was in there as it was put on a while ago and I'd had no sales response so I'd forgotten about it. I took it down off there and was able to correspond with the buyer on Facebook Market place messenger while I was having problems with my eBay account.

Once I knew that I wasn't going to be able to courier the Freezer kit to the buyer. I contacted him and told him that probably the best thing would be to withdraw the sale as I wouldn't be able courier it but I said my companies head office is in Stoke (he lives in Ellesmere Port Cheshire) and that sometimes I go there. I also told him I work in Manchester from time to time and would be happy to drop it off after work. These transcripts are available.

I subsequently discovered that eBay has suspended my account. I don't really understand this as no communication was given to me where I was able to defend or offer an explanation. What I understand is the buyer has made a complaint and you have taken his word at face value.

I am not a scammer. I have never sold an item on eBay before it is all new to me. I made a simple error in not including the cost of delivery in the sale. The whole business was compounded by the fact that the eBay platform wouldn't let me login and even when I changed the password it still wouldn't recognise the new password.

Finally the seller was abusive towards me he called me an effing c#@#t, scammer and made allegations that weren't true. I did not offer to sell the item outside of eBay. I asked him to withdraw his offer and money paid until a future date where I would be able to deliver it in person.

The item is a Rothenberger Freeze Kit. The buyer knows what this item is. Surely when he purchased it he would have noticed that the delivery arrangement was inadequate and could have asked me what the situation with the delivery would be. I feel he has been disingenuous about this issue. I'm genuinely apologetic and empathetic about the inconvenience this has caused but if you read the transcripts and I can provide the Facebook Marketplace Messenger transcripts too you will see that I have acted in good faith. I also feel that the buyer although frustrated and annoyed should not be using abusive and threatening language neither should he be misleading eBay about the circumstances making me out to be a rule breaker and scammer.

I'd be grateful if you would give this your attention .

Yours Sincerely

Matthew Ransom
