Trying to buy an item that's sold in the UK but the system doesn't allow it even if I live in the UK

Hello everyone.

I am trying to buy  an item from a seller in the UK. My  only address is in the UK but at the checkout the system doesn't allow me to proceed with the payment, returning a message that says the seller doesn't ship to Aberdeen....

The seller says he contacted e-bay about the listing and they has said there is nothing wrong with it or shipping to anywhere in the UK.

Any clue?

There are two possibilities, 

1. Sellers can block selling to parts if the UK. See below.

2.Seller uses Couriers, who may deliver to most parts of the UK but do not like Royal Mail charge the same for all parts, so the cost quoted on a listing may not be adequate for Aberdeen.

Only suggestions why you cannot buy, if seller uses courier you could ask them to quote postage using RM.
