Tracked 48 label which was not accepted at the Post Office on Monday 4th August

I purchased a tracked 48 label on 4th August which was not accepted at the Post Office, I then used 2nd class mail so I am  £3.45 out of pocket how do I get a refund from E Bay / Post 

Please help as E Bay are just sending me around in circles
