Re: Tracing item by order number only

If you have something to pay for why don't you look in your purchases?

If it isn't there then you cannot pay.

Re: Tracing item by order number only

You mis-read the tense, john1297576.  I do not HAVE something to pay for (indeed, I did look in my purchases in an attempt to find it), the point is that I have paid for something, twice now, and I have no idea what it is, except that it is entitled a 'split payment'  NOT a 3-in-3 payment (before anyone jumps to conclusions - those are accounted for), but it appears someone is taking a sum two months in a row and I can't find out who.  Or why?  Is it something I have forgotten about?  Is it a non-eBay company who have taken a payment - and then taken another one?  Is it somebody scamming me?  I don't know and I can't find out because Paypal are not telling me WHO is taking my money, or what for.
That's what I'm trying to find out and if neither order number, nor item number are present (which they are not in one case, and that instead has an "invoice ID" - which means nothing to me - and a "transaction ID" - which also means nothing to me either!), then how do I find out who is taking my money and why?  Paypal thinks it's legitimate, and it may be so, but how do I check?

Re: Tracing item by order number only

If it's a non ebay company, then you need to contact your bank to sort.

Re: Tracing item by order number only

But as the authorisation IS from "EBAY COMMERCE UK", and the seller information also states "EBAY COMMERCE UK LTD", then the bank will just tell me I've paid EBAY - they will not have any other information.
The point of my post is that EBAY sold the item, but used one of their 'sellers' to post, describe and price the item.  So why do they refuse to let me find out who sold me what?
(I have looked through my 'purchase history' and there's no sale on the date the money was taken.)  Hence my confusion.  Had there been a sale on (or just before) the day the money was charged, and the amount was the same, problem solved - but there ISN'T any such item and, I would note, the blue line (which normally indicates a link), which reads "See dispatch details" fails to work when clicked.  Most odd, imho...

If not in your purchase history,  did you buy as a guest?

If you don't recognise item, best to contact your bank and stop card.

Re: Tracing item by order number only

I revert to my original question which has not, thus far been answered.  Perhaps one or two people could respond to it rather than guessing what I mean?
I appreciate the advice - although it's all pretty basic stuff - but NONE of it answers my original post.

So I'll repeat that now: "Tracing item by order number only - how do I find details of my eBay order by using only the order number?"

Putting that another way, "where can I click to insert it and see the details it represents?

Re: Tracing item by order number only

Ebay do not sell anything,

You bought from a seller using eBay website to advertise on.

If you paid eBay commerce, it was ebay purchase.

We Don't have access to your details, you need to contact eBay direct.

Looking at your feedback,  you have bought a lot of items In last 6 months.

Re: Tracing item by order number only

Ebay do not sell anything,               'True!"

You bought from a seller using eBay website to advertise on.  "Also true."

If you paid eBay commerce, it was ebay purchase.     "Again, true."

We Don't have access to your details, you need to contact eBay direct.  "Understood, but I am not suggesting that you DO have access to my details.  That's not what I asked, is it?"

Looking at your feedback, you have bought a lot of items In last 6 months.  "Not alone in that, I know - but it is irrelevant.  So, as no-one's answered it yet, I repeat my question:
"Where on the eBay website do I click to find what my Order Number represents?  (If there's no relevance to it, why record it?"   After all, I can go to many of my other suppliers, input my order number, and see exactly what was in that order.  I have an eBay account and despite that, I cannot find a way of accessing what I have bought by inputting that order number.  SO what is the point if it's not accessible?
If it is, how do I do it?  (Perhaps if I'm persistant, somebody might actually answer my original question?  One can but live in hope !    ;^)

1) perseverence does seem to pay off ! and
2) "If at first...."  i.e. 'be like the spider.  (Y' know; that metaphorical one in the cave ...)

3) Sorry it took so long to reply, the early part of the week was full up with appts. which meant travelling.  But I'm back now, as you can see, so once again, thanks to 61stephen !
