Time scale for refund

You buy an item on ebay it stops working two months later You contact the manufacturer for a warranty repair.

They tell you they have found the item was registered two and a half years ago therfore no warranty sorry. You contact the seller repeatedly they do not reply. You contact ebay and then PayPal sorry you must claim within the 30 days. Despite the fact I had no way of knowing it was not new at the time of purchase. It was sold  new  so in my eyes both companies should have found in my favour. Not one of the companies said they would contact the seller for him to address this. Now I can't even leave negative feedback that option has disappeared he's rated 100%

Ebay said they would report the seller but not entertain my claim.

Try and get you money back outside ebay they said. £107.10 down but not giving up.

Your only option now is to try a claim through your funding source.

There are good and bad points about buying on eBay, but it's important to understand the risks.

Buying from unknown sellers here isn't like buying from the shops. The user agreement even warns buyers that "eBay does not guarantee the existence, quality, safety or legality of items advertised, or the truth or accuracy of descriptions".

eBay provides it's own money back guarantee or most items, but it only lasts for 30 days. After that, eBay has no interest - it's between you and the seller. Many sellers don't want to know, and even manufacturers' warranties are often invalid for items bought here. eBay is a jungle.
