I bought an item from a seller and unfortunately I didn’t know it was outside its return warranty however the seller told me to return the fully purchased item for a refund, postage of the return cost me close to £18 and the item was £47 plus. Upon receiving the item the seller is not refunding and it’s not responding to my messages, eBay on the other hand are completely refusing to help me retrieve my money, the seller is still operating fully under eBay umbrella, how is that even possible? I have spoken several times with eBay and all I get are promises.
I need help to get my refund.

Ebay MBG is only for 30 days, after that time they won help.
You could ask your payment provider.
Main issue is seller is in Latvia, so UK consumer protection may not apply.

Ebay make it very clear in the user agreement that they are not responsible for what a seller sells.

Whose return warranty?
You have 30 days to use the ebay money back guarantee, reason presumably Not as described.
In theory seller pays. return postage but difficult to arrange if seller not in the UK, but if no return label supplied, you escalate to ebay who would probably refund without need to return.
Have you left feedback if within the 60 days allowed?
Ebay will only ever help if you use the systems they provide within the time allowed. If you do returns your way it is at your risk.
