Support needed

I bought a machine through eBay at the end of 2024, it was very expensive and there has been problems with it from the very beginning, I asked the seller for a refund multiple times and he kept referring me to the engineer to help me „fix” it, he wouldn’t accept the return even tho he guaranteed a 3 year warranty that included refunds, I texted him multiple times but he stopped replying and eventually blocked me, I tried to contact eBay but I can find help, does anyone know what I can do?

Re: Support needed

I am very sorry,  but you are well , well out of time to claim anything back from eBay or even your payment provider, they usually offer a 120 day buyer protection policy.  eBay has a 30 day MBG,  Money back Guarantee policy which is just what ' it says on the tin'   you need to claim within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery.

Any guarantee a seller offers past those dates,  is between you and the seller to enforce.

Was this a UK registered business selling a Brand new item with this 3 year guarantee?  Then,  turn to Citizens Advice for your next steps here.

There is nothing you can do through Ebay.  You needed to start a return within 30 days of receipt and Ebay would have helped you to get the item returned at the seller's expense and a full refund.

It's a shame you didn't use the Money Back Guarantee if the item was clearly faulty on delivery.

If you paid with a credit card, you may be eligible for a Section 75 claim - contact your credit card company.

Otherwise, take legal advice.

Re: Support needed

Hi, the business is from china so I’m guessing absolutely nothing can be done about it?

Re: Support needed

You almost certainly won't be able to successfully take legal action.

I assume you didn't pay with a credit card?

Unfortunately not.

Even if you paid with a credit card you won't be able to get a refund via Section 75 because that requires direct buyer to seller payment, which doesn't happen on an online selling platform.
