Still Confused

Just had a message from eBay explaining the new Simple Delivery and how it will work ,in my case I only list and sell stamps for collectors.

Before these changes I used to print out the buyers address stick it on an envelope with a first class stamp if it was to the UK or the overseas stamp if going international. Dead easy. OR

If they were more valuable stamps I would send the envelope by insured & tracked mail again with Royal Mail

Done this for years and never had any problems.

Do's anybody know can I still carry on doing it this way?

The message says Simple Delivery is not necessary if selling stamps but is that only if there value is below £10?.

But what do I do if they are worth more than £10?

The message did not say if sellers could still combine lots to save on postage for the buyer which I always did.

Can I do it now though?

Has anybody got the answers please, or is it a case of trial and error?

Re: Still Confused

Item has to be worth less than £10 to opt out of using Simple Delivery.   I think there's currently a problem with opting out of SD for letter items but hopefully they'll fix that.

There is a problem with combining postage with SD at the moment.    A temporary fix is to put a note on your listings that any buyers wanting to buy more than one lot should let you know first.   Then you can relist those items into one listing with one postage cost.

For anyone going ahead and buying separately you can cancel/refund the transactions with the buyer's agreement and relist with items on one listing and a single postage cost for the buyer to buy and pay again.

Re: Still Confused

Thanks for trying to help, seems everybody's not sure how these new changes do work.

Just now we all think it works this way they have heard, but are not i00% sure!

Like you I have been told there are still problems but they are busy fixing them. heard that for couple of weeks now.

Suppose the only way to find out for sure is to jump in and try it out, see if its worth the bother staying with it.

Unfortunately for me selling and posting cheaper stamps I am not sure? Prefer how it was before.
