Sold item returned to seller missing items and damaged

Hii I sold a collection of books and they've been sent back apparently had been damaged at the delivery depot they've been sent back to me but one is missing how do I fix this

Did you send via Simple Delivery and evri?

Have you refunded?

What does tracking show?

Going to refund the buyer and yes sadly was through evri and simple
delivery but one of the items I'd sold in the collection has been stolen I
would like to fix that part is there a way to get my item back?

You should not refund just yet.

If you used Simple Delivery ebay is responsible for any damage during delivery.

The question is whether it should be a not received refund or a damaged during delivery refund.

Presumably your buyer has not received their item? So ask them to open a Not Received case under the ebay MBG and you shouldn't have to do anything else as ebay will refund your buyer while you keep the payment.

If you get the books back you can keep them.

I've got the books back 3 out of 4 of them and I did tell them to put a
request in I wasn't sure which so idk if I'll be able to fix that now but
