Sold an item but I’ve had several people contact me to say their highest bid was more

I sold a phone on eBay and have had 2 other people message me with screenshots showing their highest bid was higher than the winning bid. They are annoyed as to why they didn’t win it. I’m confused. 
please help.

Phones are scam targets so I would stick to the info about the winning bidder on ebay.

Winning bidder bid several times,

So even if another person bid, they may not have beaten the winner.

They may not have taken the buyer protection fee into account.  If they look at the bidding history page those figures don't include it but the actual bids, including theirs, will.
