Paid £2250 for a scrap van and seller still says van is fine? Smokes constantly on start up? Damage and rust everywhere? Zero service history but told had full service? Not 1mm of oil in engine? Side door doest open? Handle useless? Im disabled so cant climb over filthy seats? Engine sounds dreadful? Bottom of windscreen covered in rust? Damage to sills , bodywork? Sits way too low?? Central locking doesnt work?? Radio doesnt even work? Filthy interior with garbage used camping stuff???? Drives like a pig and smokes endlessly whenever started???? Would you be happy after paying the seller £2250 after him telling me he drove van this morning and was fine??????? Liar????? Transporter apologising because of the state of it? He said van was running when he turned up at 7am???? RED FLAG CENTRAL??? Am i allowed to be frustrated??? Van was for my wife and children? Will cost £1000ss to put right????????

Nobody can afford to waste that amount of money but, because Ebay does not offer any guarantee on motor vehicles, you have to go and thoroughly examine the vehicle, preferably with a knowledgeable person who can check it over, and have a test drive, before you part with any money.
If it is a business seller, ask Citizens Advice what your legal rights are.

If the seller was a dealer you have more statutory rights than if they were a private individual, but it will be tricky for you to decide that given that you didn't attend the premises.
