The answer - sadly - is no! You need to contact eBay and get some proper courier arranged.
In my view it is one of the things [unless collected] that I would never buy on eBay. Delivery may be OK but for the average buyer great difficulty arises if a return is needed

I have never done so. There is an option to request a call [or there was!]. I assume that it would be a human. Other member suggest trying as soon as possible after 800am weekdays when you may get Dublin
Perhaps another poster can provide a link?

Here you go:
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.
