Simple postage help. Package bigger than expected

I’ve sold an item (flight case) and at the time of listing I selected the largest postage option, medium parcel… I unfortunately had measurements from the internals of the case not externals…. So after packing the item up the package  is slightly too big for Royal Mail postage. I have tried to cancel the label eBay has issued me with no joy, says it can’t be done. I realise I will have to foot the extra cost of postage with say parcel force but that’s not the issue. How can I change the shipping type and pay any extra amount ? There simply doesn’t seem a way.
was so much easier when I just charged the buyer postage and sorted it out myself.

All I want to do is cancel my label, change the delivery type and pay any additional amount.. is it really that hard ?

im thinking of just refunding the customer and setting up a buy it now again without a simple postage option so I can choose how it’s sent.

Any suggestions

Simple postage help. Package bigger than expected

You can't not use SD unless item is extra large/heavy.    You could cancel/refund the transaction with the buyer's agreement (via the dropdown actions menu arrow for the item on your orders list) and relist with correct postage for the buyer to buy and pay again.

Or if you want to buy the postage for the current transaction you would be paying the whole thing yourself.    If you do that open the original label to mark dispatched.    Then add the new tracking via View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow > Add Tracking.   That needs to be done on a desktop browser.

If the buyer paid for the orig label the cost will be refunded to them automatically in 30 days.
