Simple delivery & lost parcel

Hi,

Does anyone know what happens if a simple delivery postage parcel goes missing? Do the sellers still have to sort everything out with EVRI or Royal Mail or do Ebay sort this as they have set this system up? If its still the sellers then why are the buyers paying extra fees for a buyer protection? Thank you for reading

Buyer protection fees and Simple Delivery are not connected.

If a buyer says they have not received an item sent using SD then they open a case as normal and ebay should foot the refund.
