Simple Postage and Buy it Now items

Sadly as from yesterday I can no longer control my own postage costs through custom postage.   Simple Delivery is now obligatory for me.   I don't want to use Evri but it seems Royal Mail is the only other option I have and that does not cover my sales of extra long or extra heavy packages although fine for some sales.  I cannot refuse both it seems.   What do I do?

Also I happened to add an extra description to a Buy it now item and found that had been changed to Simple Delivery without my agreeing or wanting it.  In this case the postage Ebay had chosen would not have been enough for my calculation for the item.  I then looked at other Buy it Now items I had and found some but not all had also been changed to Simple Delivery without my knowledge.   So an item could be sold and I would be forced to send it with an Ebay generated label that did not suit the item.  Ebay does not know the size or weight of my items.Has anyone else found this?   Who picks up the bill for the error?Grateful for comments.

Simple Postage and Buy it Now items

That is correct , Simple Delivery is mandatory for all Private sellers,  this started from April 15th and some sellers still lucky to date to be able to use Custom Postage thought wrongly that it was still a choice. It's been a very slow roll out for some.

Items listed with Custom postage are being automatically changed to SD, and worth checking,  as errors are being found.

There are items which are exempt from SD.   Items exceeding certain dimensions (e.g., length > 120cm) or weight (e.g., > 20kg) are not eligible for Simple Delivery, here you should be able to select your postage costs.
