Simple Delivery

I have today been told that Evri packages are processed automatically by machines. In my case, I put a small box inside a flexible envelope and apparently the machine has torn the envelope, and the box apparently fallen out.

So my item ended up being delivered torn and open and empty. What is going on? Is this automation correct, or a scam or dishonesty from the buyer.

The buyer told me the best way to avoid accidents was to send the item in a standard cardboard box!!

Has anyone else had their packages wrecked through automation? It's a first for me. Let's go back to the old system that works.

With Simple Delivery you are protected if the item is lost/damaged in transit.  That means ebay will pay the refund, not you, when the buyer opens a claim.

So ask the buyer to open a return using "item damaged" as the reason (not a "Not received" case because the tracking will show otherwise).     Then eBay will issue the refund themselves and you keep the original payment.   They will not be required to return the packaging.
