Simple Delivery

I think Simple Delivery should be renamed Stupid Delivery. We have all been shoehorned into their latest daft idea for an income stream. Some larger items I have which are over 61 cm have no option for oversized. So, do I buy the wrong postage and then get negative feedback and pay the costs associated with wrong postage? The ebay advice is to just go with it even if it is wrong.  Doh!  I think the days of the ebay we loved are now numbered. Competition is killing their income streams and they are looking to extract some cash elsewhere (anywhere). The buyers premium has chased off buyers and sellers are handcuffed by silly impositions. Sellers want the freedom to choose. Give the option of a reasonable selling fee (5%?) and give us back the options to post and advertise as we want. Ditch the AI (artificial stupidity).

There should be an option to use custom postage for larger items but it is not working.  I tried to create a fake listing yesterday and the system belived a filing cabinet could be sent as a RM medium parcel.

As you advertise free postage, you can buy your own postage for larger items, change the tracking and claim a refund for the cost of the unused Simple Delivery label.

I realise this is far from ideal.  Ebay know the system is not working properly and this is adding to sellers' frustrations with a new, unpopular system.

Simple Delivery

I am waiting for a refund on a failed Simple Delivery fiasco a couple of weeks ago but nothing yet received and I know there are two hopes,  no hope and  Bob Hope! Knowing that a system does not work but imposing it anyway is just very poor business and complete disrespect to loyal customers. I have been on ebay for over 20 years and have bought and sold more than 2000 items, I have always had 100% feedback. It worked for me, but now . . . I am now hoping for a new player to enter the market which will suit me better. What a shame.

Has eBay messaged you that a refund is being made / processed?  Refunds are not instant, and go back to original payment source,  ensure you are looking in the correct place.

If you paid with PayPal it goes back to your PayPal account fairly swiftly.

Paying with a debit / bank card?  Can take up to 12 days to appear back in your bank account.

Credit card payment?  This takes the longest,  up to 30 days to appear back in the card account used.

Did you apply for a refund?

There is a specific process and a form to complete.

SD refunds are not automated.

If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling
