Simple Delivery

I am a private seller and I have been with ebay since the 1990s, But after all this time I am finding now that some things are changing in a bad way and I am forced into things I do not want this is very upsetting to me as the sytem i use works exstreamlly well the biggest thing is the fact I am being told I must use Simple delivery without any input from me. I operate a sytem called drop and go with the royal mail i can just drop off my boxes off and the post office do the rest and even put the tracking numbers on ebay for me.  with simple delivery this is not possible.  I do not like ebays way of doing things and at the age of 76 years old I do not want to be force into using a system without having any say.   I do not want to but if this stays in place I will have to move my custom to a new auction site... This is a free country not  a dictatorship its bad enought that Ebay charge me interest onto of my postage without controling it. its about ebay looked after there customers and not there prophets

Re: Simple Delivery

You're certainly not alone in disliking Simple Delivery.  There is a way round it but it's not really a long term solution.

List with free postage and factor that cost into your item price.   Then buy your own postage however you usually do.

To get the buyer's address and mark dispatched you have to open the original Simple Delivery label (Get prepaid label > Get prepaid label and QR code).    The option to change the tracking has been removed but you would be able to add the new number to a "not received" case if that were necessary.

You can claim a refund for an unused label here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller

Without tracking on ebay the payment may be held for 14 days.

Ebay don't charge you interest on your postage - I don't know why you would think that.

Anyway, another possible adaptation, as Simple Delivery is here to stay and you have spent time creating your listings on the site is suggested below.

Change your postage options to Royal Mail only.

When you sell an item, you can then open the label and book a Royal Mail collection.  The postie can bring labels for your parcels or you can print your own.

The alternative, as you realise, is to sell elsewhere.
